Who is The Tatreez Collective?
We are a Palestinian-led fashion and craft brand with a simple belief: Palestinian craftsmanship deserves to be seen, valued and celebrated around the world.
Our journey began with Palestinian embroidery workshops, bringing people together to learn tatreez and discover the stories behind its stitches.
But we wanted to do more than teach and preserve these traditions. We wanted to create opportunities for the artisans who practise them and find new ways for Palestinian craftsmanship to be part of everyday life.
What do we do?
We create contemporary clothing, designed to be worn and loved, and made entirely in Palestine.
We work with Palestinian artisans to bring our designs to life, combining traditional skills with modern fashion. Sometimes that means incorporating different tatreez stitches or other embroidery techniques. Other times, it simply means creating beautiful, well-made clothing in Palestine.
We also continue to share Palestinian embroidery through workshops, bringing people together to learn, create and connect with Palestinian culture.
We also create bespoke pieces, working with customers to bring their ideas to life through Palestinian craftsmanship.
What are we trying to achieve?
We want Palestinian fashion to be known for its creativity, quality and design.
We want people to buy a Palestinian-made jacket, dress or shirt because they love it, not only because they want to support Palestine.
And we want the success of our brand to create more opportunities back home.
That's why we reinvest our profits into growing our work in Palestine, from equipment and training to developing new skills and creating more paid opportunities for artisans.
Our dream is to help build a Palestinian fashion industry that can stand alongside brands from anywhere in the world.
Where are we now?
In January 2025, we started our cooperative in Beit Liqya, near Ramallah, with just three artisans.
Today, our collective has grown to 15 artisans and continues to grow. Together, we're developing new clothing collections, learning new techniques and building our production capabilities.
Along the way, we've continued sharing Palestinian embroidery through workshops and cultural collaborations.
We've come a long way, but we're still at the beginning of what we hope to build.
