Join us for an immersive afternoon exploring Tahriri, one of the most widely used and recognisable stitches in Palestinian embroidery. Originating from Jerusalem and Bethlehem, Tahriri is known for its flowing, continuous lines and is traditionally used to frame and connect motifs on Palestinian dresses.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will be introduced to the history and cultural significance of the stitch, learn the technique step by step, and begin stitching from a traditional chest panel design inspired by historic Palestinian garments. No prior embroidery experience is needed — the workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those wishing to deepen their understanding of Tatreez.
By the end of the session, you will have a finished embroidered piece that can be framed as a textile artwork or transformed into a small pouch or personal object.
The workshop will be followed by a screening of the film All That’s Left of Us, offering space for reflection on memory, heritage, and storytelling beyond the stitch.
Please note: film tickets are sold separately and are not included with the workshop ticket.
👉 Spaces are limited to keep the session personal. Reserve your spot now and bring home a handmade piece of culture.
